Privacy Policy

Last updated: 19 October 2026

The short version: Hosetel looks at hotels, not at you. We don't ask for your name, email or account, we don't track your browsing, and we never sell data.

Who we are

Hosetel is a browser extension and website that shows whether hotels have a toilet hose (bidet sprayer). It is operated by Talal Sabbah, trading as Hosetel. You can contact us about anything in this policy at hello@hosetel.com.

What the extension does

When you open a hotel listing or search results on Booking.com, Hosetel reads that page to identify the hotels on it and show each one's hose status. It only runs on Booking.com pages. It does not read any other website, your browsing history, your bookings or your Booking.com account.

What we collect

Hotel information. To look up and record a hotel's hose status, the extension sends us details about the hotel, not about you: the booking site, the hotel's ID and web address, its name, its country, and, if a guest review mentions a toilet hose, a short snippet of that review.

Your yes or no answers. If you tell us whether a hotel had a hose, we store your answer with the hotel and a random anonymous ID created when you installed Hosetel. That ID is a string of random letters and numbers. It isn't linked to your name, email, device or Booking.com account, and we can't use it to identify you.

Hotel reports. If a hotel emails us to confirm its facilities, we keep the hotel's name, its Booking.com link and the contact email it sent from, so we can verify the report.

Emails you send us. If you email hello@hosetel.com, we keep your message and email address so we can reply.

What we don't collect

No names, accounts or passwords. No payment details. No browsing history. No location data. No information from any website other than Booking.com hotel pages. We don't use advertising trackers in the extension.

Where data is stored

Hotel information and anonymous answers are stored in a secure database hosted by Supabase in London, United Kingdom. The extension also keeps a short-lived copy of hotel results on your own computer, for up to 24 hours, so pages load quickly. Removing the extension deletes that local copy.

How we use it

Only to show hose information to Hosetel users, to keep that information accurate, and to improve the service. Hotel-level information, meaning which hotels have toilet hoses, may be shared with travel partners or included in any future sale of the Hosetel business. Anonymous answers are only ever used in aggregate and are never linked to an individual.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

Hosetel's use of information received from the extension complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We don't sell user data, we don't use it for advertising or creditworthiness, and we don't transfer it except as described in this policy.

How long we keep it

Hotel information and anonymous answers are kept for as long as Hosetel operates, as they make up the hotel database. Emails are kept for up to two years, then deleted.

Your rights

If you're in the UK or EU, you have rights over your personal data, including to access, correct or delete it, and to complain to your data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office). Because your answers are anonymous, we usually can't tell which ones are yours. If you'd like your answers removed, email us your anonymous ID, which you can find in the extension's popup, and we'll delete them.

Children

Hosetel isn't aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. Significant changes will also be announced on this page.
